Christrails is an archive of the places where the Christian story happened, and where the church has walked ever since — the hills of Galilee, the roads to Santiago and Rome, the desert cells of Egypt, the tidal islands of the north.
Every entry is written the same way: what the place is, what the sources actually say, what survives, and what you need to know before you go. Where a tradition is contested we say so. Devotion is not served by bad history.
About us
Christrails is run as a Norwegian sole proprietorship under the business name Norsk Webservice, owned and operated by Stine Grytøyr.
I am a personal Christian with a deep interest in Bible history, the places where Scripture unfolded, and the sacred sites the church has cared for ever since. Christrails grew out of that fascination: a way to collect, research and share destinations that matter to people of faith as well as to curious travellers.
Every destination on this site is researched with the same goal — honest, useful information about where history, tradition and the biblical text meet. Where evidence is debated, I say so. Where practical details matter for a visitor, I include them.

The significance scale
Each destination carries a rating from 1 to 5 for how firmly it is tied to the biblical text and the earliest church.

Travelling well
Many of these places are working churches, monasteries and memorials before they are attractions. Dress modestly, keep silence where silence is kept, and confirm opening hours locally — several sites close for fasts, feasts and prayer without notice.
